How It Began..

Sometimes, the most ordinary things make you stop.

A peeling wall. A passing conversation. The way the sea keeps returning to the shore. Things you’ve seen a hundred times until, one day, you see them differently.

Perhaps that’s why a simple poem can move you so deeply. It takes something that was always there and shows it through someone else’s eyes. Nothing changed, except the way you saw it.

QISSA began with Sumbul and Ishita, and a shared instinct to hold on to moments like these; the ones that make us feel, question, or see differently and give them form.

A candle. A page. A piece of fabric. An ordinary object carrying a thought that once moved us.

And if it makes you pause, feel, or see something differently too, then that feeling has travelled a little further.

A moved heart breathes life.

From Feeling To Form

We begin with what stayed with us, then translate it into something tangible; through scent, paper, fabric, form and story.

meet

Sumbul

Lets her imagination wander and usually follows wherever it goes.

Creative, curious, and always finding beauty in the unexpected, sees possibilities everywhere. She brings the wild ideas, the what-ifs, and the instinct to turn something ordinary into something worth looking at twice.

meet

Ishita

Knows how to turn a hundred ideas into the right one.

Strong-headed, creative, and clear, Ishita brings focus to the chaos. She keeps things grounded, finds the middle when ideas run wild, and brings the balance that helps QISSA take shape.
